candidate, Mary Floyd Spring, was born Mary Boyce Yarborough to
George Dewey and Ann C. Yarborough in Timmonsville, SC in 1951. Mary is a graduate of
Timmonsville High School's class of 1969. She is a 1973 graduate of
Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC.

Mary began her graduate level training
at Francis Marion University by taking classes that led to a
certification in Special Education (SPED). In 2001 she received her
Master of Science (MS) in Counseling from Andrew Jackson University.
Then in 2006 she received a MS in Guidance and Counseling from Troy
University at Shaw AFB Campus. She has four children: Nancy Floyd
Miles (Timmonsville), Michael Floyd (Hawaii) - currently serving in
Afghanistan, Amanda Floyd (Florida) and Robert D. Floyd
(Timmonsville). She also has three grandchildren: John,
Kynslie and Zoey.
She formerly owned and operated Floyd's
Seafood in Timmonsville along with her now deceased husband Sollie Floyd.
Currently she owns and operates Floyd's Convenience Store in the Sardis Community. She taught school
for 15 years in public, private and prison school settings. She has
both a business and academic background and has a deep understanding
of the importance of commerce as well as the much needed
opportunities for youth all over Florence county.
